Techcomlight: Pioneering Natural Light Solutions for Piggery Since 2009
In 2009, Techcomlight made its first major stride by installing daylight tubes in a pigsty in the Netherlands. This marked the beginning of our mission to bring natural lighting solutions to the agricultural sector.
By 2011, we partnered with the Sterksel Innovation Center in the Netherlands to launch a pilot project. This initiative allowed us to showcase our technology at the Open Innovation Day, demonstrating how natural light can improve the welfare of livestock. Additionally, our daylight tubes were successfully installed in pigsties at Wageningen University, further validating the benefits of natural lighting in academic research settings.
Fast forward to 2024, the demand for our daylight tubes has seen a significant increase across the Netherlands, largely driven by new standards set by the Dutch Animal Protection certification. These changes have fueled market growth, as more farmers seek sustainable solutions that enhance animal welfare.
